An overseas startup called Potatomato is flogging this Takolink, a large, external display that mirrors your phone's screen.
At first it sounds silly, but it would be quite useful for certain situations. The most obvious is sharing what you're looking at with others.
Other times you may just want a larger screen for yourself, like for reading, gaming or using as sheet music.
For content creators, it provides a handy monitor, so you can more easily see what you're shooting.

Interestingly, the device does not connect to your phone via WiFi nor Bluetooth; the company is cagey about how the link is actually accomplished.

The device runs about $260 on Kickstarter, where it's been successfully funded with 8 days left to pledge at press time. They anticipate shipping by June.

The page DOES NOT say no Bluetooth. The only way this can work as described (for Apple devices, anyhow) is via AirPlay peer-to-peer discovery: https://support.apple.com/guide/deployment/use-airplay-dep9151c4ace/web
