With the exploding popularity of robotic vacuum cleaners, Austin-based startup Tailos saw an opportunity to expand this category into the hospitality industry. Unlike homes, hotels require faster and deeper cleaning than residential robot vacuums offer. Tailos began work on Rosie, a robotic vacuum made to meet this challenge.
After creating a semi-functional prototype, they enlisted our help to take their idea to the next level. Through ambitious deadlines and complex technical requirements, we worked with them to deliver cohesive, pleasing and tooling-ready industrial design.
Rosie features much more powerful suction than other small robotic vacuums, allowing it to complete a room quickly. It is further enabled by omni wheels, which it can use to move in any direction to minimize travel time. Its low profile allows it to slip easily under furniture for thorough cleaning.
Loaded with sensors, it can quickly navigate through new and changing environments, cleaning more than 1,000 square feet per hour with all-day operation.
