ARAY began with a clear opportunity: in a crowded recovery market, users were forced to choose between passive foam rollers and awkward, single-purpose heat solutions. Working closely with founder Eduardo Emanuelli from the outset, PENSA helped define the product strategy, identify market gaps, and shape a new brand rooted in accessible, high-performance recovery.
From there, we developed the ARAY name, brand, and product experience in parallel—aligning every decision around a simple goal: help people move better, recover faster, and feel stronger at home. Our research focused on how recovery tools are used in real life, what existing products fail to deliver, and how a more refined, inviting object could stand apart in both performance and appearance.
The design and engineering challenge was to seamlessly combine targeted heat therapy with myofascial release in one compact, elegant form. We engineered a proprietary construction around a rigid internal core housing the battery and controls, wrapped in layered EVA foam for cushioning and targeted massage, with an integrated heating element that delivers consistent, penetrating warmth. The result is a first-of-its-kind recovery roller that feels professional, intuitive, and distinctly elevated.
