After seeing some traditional Alpine hay rakes, Italian industrial designer Monica Graffeo was inspired. She began sketching to see if she could integrate the rake's form, in a useful way, into furniture.

The end result was this Restel entryway furniture piece:
Graffeo collaborated with Trentino-based traditional carpentry firm Falegnameria Bosetti to realize the design. It was built using Trentino Larch.

The collaboration was enabled by NODI ("knots" in English), an initiative to connect Trentino artisans with contemporary designers.
There's no word on production plans, though the piece was recently shown at Milan Design Week.
