This aluminum Set Table Lamp, by Canadian designer Jamie Wolfond, borrows a trick from old-school adjustable stools. The shade can be manually rotated to change the nature of the light.

"It is very bright, especially for a bounce light," Wolfond explains, "so it creates a very different atmosphere when it's up versus down."

I'm loving that first mock-up.

The lamp is in production by Muuto.
