A bevel gauge is a handy thing to have in a shop. It's ideal for when you're transferring angles from existing components onto a workpiece, and you don't have to fuss with numbers at all.
However, if you're starting from scratch and need to scribe precise angles off of a drawing, the tool must be paired with a protractor.
